The Homegrown Research Grants scheme has been established by the North London Mental Health Partnership to encourage staff and associated academics to conduct research projects with relevance to our patient populations.

The projects can be small independent pieces of research, service evaluations, systematic reviews, preparatory project work, or projects running alongside larger existing projects such as data analysis or additional qualitative data collection.

The awards available can cover a maximum of £15,000, the costs for which will need to be justified when making an application. Projects with small scale budgets can also be funded, especially where value for money is shown.

Applications for projects on the kay strategic areas outlined below are particularly encouraged:

  • With a focus on underrepresented groups who are at particular risk of developing mental health problems, specifically young black men
  • Stratification of the local patient population according to their healthcare needs
  • Assertive and early engagement of community mental health teams for people at risk or already developing mental health problems

Please see the Homegrown Research Grant Guidance and Application form for further information.

The deadline for applications is Friday 18th October. Please send any questions and completed applications to james.quigley@nhs.net
