Good Clinical Practice Training
The purpose of this course is to:
- Describe the purpose of GCP
- Outline the significant milestones in the history of GCP development
- Review the respective responsibilities of Sponsors, Investigators and Ethics Committees in the context of GCP
- State the purpose of the EU Clinical Trial Regulation and Directives
- Outline the requirements of the UK statutory instruments highlighting changes as a result of the Regulation
- Describe the practical applications of GCP

Writing for Publication (Taster Session)
Delegates will learn how to structure a paper and how to avoid common pitfalls. The session is interactive and will includes two practical activities.
By the end of this session delegates will have:
- Discussed the value of writing for publication
- Explored topics for potential publication
- Focused on targeting journals
- Reflected upon writing conventions
- Considered and understood the processes involved in preparing an article for publication

Finding the Evidence (Literature Searching Skills)
Introducing and demonstrating searches of healthcare databases.
The purpose of this workshop is to introduce the concept of literature searching through Healthcare Databases Advanced Search (HDAS) interface, to demonstrate some of the features of the healthcare databases and to offer basic skills required to search these databases.
This includes: Healthcare Databases- Searching Medical, Nursing, Psychological, Complementary and Allied Medicine, Health Administration and Health Management Databases with links to full-text articles of over 1500 journals.
By the end of the session delegates will have understood the following concepts:
- E-journals, e-books and how to login to the NCC
- Databases on offer
- Concept of literature searching
- Basic searching across databases

Noclor Programme: What the Library Can Do for Me - an Introduction to Library Services
In this introductory session you will find out how the Library can help your research interests, how it can help you deliver evidence based care, and how it can support your learning and development at work. The session covers using the Library space, joining and getting an NHS OpenAthens account, book and journal requests, the Library web site, KnowledgeShare (for regular subject alerts) and the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub.

Noclor Programme: Finding the Evidence (Literature Searching Skills)
Learn how to retrieve the research literature you are looking for by devising and executing a good search strategy using both keyword and subject heading searches. You will gain the skills to search the NHS Library and Knowledge Hub as well as primary research databases effectively by combining searches using AND/OR operators, refine your results using limits; and export, email, save your results.

Join us in the library or online for our monthly Noclor Journal Club for Nurses and AHPs. In these sessions we'll go over an accessible, interesting paper (or something else...) as a group, discussing its strengths and weaknesses, and what it could mean for your practice. This month: It's September so that means that the kids are going back to school... but are the kids alright? We'll be covering a paper with a local setting: “I think it is our responsibility, but not solely our responsibility”: A qualitative study exploring teachers’ perspectives on promoting mental health in Northwest London primary schools.
The Noclor Journal Club will be meeting online via Teams and in-person in Whittington Health Library's meeting room (with snacks/refreshments!) to discuss this paper.
