Research for All Week

Research for All Week 2026 gets underway today, bringing together colleagues from across health and care to celebrate research, share learning and explore how we can make research more inclusive, accessible and relevant to the communities we serve.

From today until Friday 18 September, colleagues from community, mental health, primary care and wider care settings will come together for a programme of events, discussions and practical sessions showcasing the breadth of research taking place across our communities.

Now in its second year, Research for All Week is an opportunity to discover how research is improving care, shaping services and helping us understand what works. It is also a chance to connect with colleagues, share ideas and find out how you can get involved – whether you are already working in research or are simply interested in learning more.

Five days of research, learning and collaboration

The week opens today with a focus on community engagement and getting started in research, including opportunities to explore how colleagues can develop their research skills and begin their own research journey.

The programme continues throughout the week with sessions including:

  • Connecting the Dots: bringing together health and social care, local government, academia, public health and the voluntary sector to explore how we can strengthen research across our communities.
  • Research skills and impact: including a journal club exploring how community research link workers can make research more inclusive, alongside examples of research and service evaluation in community settings.
  • Representation, partnerships and PPIE: exploring how we can improve representation in research, strengthen academic partnerships and meaningfully involve patients and the public.
  • Practical learning: sessions on PPIE, health literacy and finding the evidence to help colleagues develop the knowledge and skills to engage with research.

Most sessions are online drop-ins and do not require registration, while some in-person events require advance booking. Visit the full programme to find out what's happening each day and how to join.

Research belongs to all of us

Research for All Week is an invitation to be curious. Whether you are leading research, supporting its delivery, working in a clinical or operational role, involved in service improvement, or simply interested in finding out more, there is something for you.

By bringing together different perspectives and experiences, we can strengthen the links between research, practice and the communities we serve – helping ensure that research reflects the needs of our populations, tackles inequalities and contributes to better health and care.

Research for All Week 2026 runs from 14–18 September. Join us, share your experience, make new connections and discover how you can play a part in research.
