This week promotes and recognises the vital role of research in community healthcare settings with a five-day programme to increase awareness, help you get involved, access training, and much more. From district nursing to mental health, from rehabilitation to public health, research is the backbone of innovation, improvement, and better outcomes for the people we serve.

Whether you're new to research or already involved, this week is designed to empower NHS staff with the skills, confidence, and inspiration to explore, question, and lead.

Through a dynamic programme of training sessions, seminars, and expert-led discussions, we’ll be shining a light on how community-based research can transform care and elevate practice.

The week runs from Monday 15th – Friday 19th September. An overview of the programme is available below.

Dr Simon Edwards, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, shared the following in support of the week.

"Research belongs to all of us - it is how we learn, improve, and make care better for our patients and communities. Research for All Week is a chance to hear from colleagues, discover new opportunities, and see how your own role can connect to research. I hope you’ll join in, bring your curiosity, and be part of shaping the future together."

Dr Nick Stokes, Director of Research at West London NHS Trust, shared the following in support of the week.

“Research is something that everyone can be a part of: staff across all professions, service users and carers. It is central to how we learn from and improve what we do, and can bring interest and variety to your role. Research for All Week is a great opportunity to find out about the many ways in which you can get involved.”
