Monthly journal club sessions for nurses and allied health professionals across Noclor partner organisations, offering accessible research discussions, practical learning opportunities and a welcoming forum for sharing ideas and experiences.
Held online and in person, the Journal Club provides a friendly and informal environment in which participants can critically appraise research papers, discuss methodology and consider how findings may influence practice. No prior experience of research appraisal is required, and attendees are welcome to join individual sessions that match their interests.
Whether the topic is directly related to your specialty or introduces a completely new area of healthcare, each meeting offers opportunities to develop research literacy, strengthen critical thinking skills and learn from colleagues across disciplines.

With special guest host Catherine Wardle, our resident health literacy specialist, we'll be covering a paper that was a smash-hit at a recent meeting of our Reflective Reading Club, Discussing Sexual Health During Diabetes Care, a Survey of UK Women—My Diabetes Nurse “Would Fall off Her Chair If I Mentioned It”. It's got quantitative and qualitative aspects, and is a very accessible read!

Previous Journal Club sessions have explored a wide range of topics, including dog therapy in clinical recovery and even the use of zombie apocalypse simulations in mental health nursing education.
