As we near the end of 2024, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has done so much to support research throughout the past year. Thank you to all the staff, clinicians, academics, researchers, patients, carers and public for being involved.
Lynis Lewis, our director at Noclor NHS Research Office, had the following Christmas message:
“As we approach the end of 2024, I’ve been reflecting on what has been an incredible year. As a research office, we’re privileged to support researchers to drive breakthrough discoveries across multiple scientific areas. This year has been marked by several achievements. The launch of the Healthy Ageing Lab at St Pancras Hospital. A collaboration between CNWL and UCL, which represents a significant step forward in its capabilities to improve the assessments and treatments for older people. We've seen the North London NHS Foundation Trust unveil an ambitious five-year research strategy alongside its collaboration with the NIHR Mental Health Mission on early psychosis and treatment resistant/difficult to treat depression. While the NIHR's award of Commercial Research Delivery Centres has strengthened our collaborative network with trusts and partners.
The dedication of our researchers has yielded transformative discoveries that genuinely impact lives – from identifying new modifiable risk factors in dementia prevention to pioneering mental health recovery technologies and revolutionising early cancer detection in primary care settings.
Our team is still full of familiar faces, but I am pleased that we’ve had some new people join Noclor this year. From research nurses through to our sponsorship assistants. we’re very fortunate to have a such a wonderful group of hardworking people in the Noclor team.
Looking ahead to 2025, I'm filled with optimism and hope about future breakthroughs and discoveries. Every research project we undertake, every study we complete, represents another step toward better healthcare for all. As this year draws to a close, I want to thank everyone for their dedication to advancing medical science.
Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas break and a new year filled with discovery, and continued success.”
Please note that our office will remain open during the festive period but there will be a limited service between Friday 20th December and Monday 6th January. Please expect a delay in responding to new queries or requests until the new year.
