Study Management & Support

You are here

The Study Management and Support (SM&S) team provide support for the set-up of research projects at our Partner Trusts that are sponsored by organisations external to our Partners. If you have a research project that has been approved by the HRA or REC (where applicable) and is sponsored by one of the following organisations:

  • NHS sites (outside of our partner trusts)
  • Higher Education Institutions
  • Pharmaceutical companies

Please contact the SM&S team as early as possible so we can guide you through the process.

If you have an interest in conducting research in our partner organisations please feel free to get in touch at contact.noclor@nhs.net

This is a local feasibility procedure that is conducted by the SM&S team to determine whether an external project is suited to our partner services and if it meets the remit of research or may be classified as a service audit.

In order to determine if your study is research please see the HRA decision tool.

The SM&S team carry out assessments to determine the feasibility of a research study. A key part of this assessment is to determine whether a project is a PIC or a Research Site.

This will help determine how the study will be set up and the level of support required.

When making your initial contact there are three key documents that can assist the SM&S team to determine the type of project you will be running in the service. Please send the following:

  • HRA approval letter
  • REC approval letter
  • Final submitted IRAS form

You can contact us if you have any general queries or issues at contact.noclor@nhs.net
